Start of a Christmas tradition.
Sarah, our idea genius, came up with the Hunger for Bacon Games.
In the cornucopia, circle in the orchard, were different nerf guns, still packaged, with extra ammo. We all stood around, waiting for the whistle. We ran for our guns, and ran away to open our guns. Then we hunted each other down. No mercy was shown.
Pa was the victor.
It was so much fun!
I'm already thinking of strategy for the next time.

Princess Party
Sarah, Ellie, Ayda, and I went up to Erin's for a princess party sleepover. It was a blast!! We decorated our crowns with jewels and feathers. We had snacks on princess plates. We did glamour shots. We went on a little scavenger hunt that lead us to a corn maze. We got lost in the corn maze, just make all lefts and you'll get out my eye. We spent another hour, after getting a map, making our way through. The kids were so done by the time we got out. We went back to Erin's and watched Anastasia, with a big bowl of popcorn. Then off to sleep.
I'm not sure, but I think us big kids had more fun than the girls! Can't wait to do it again!

Cloudy days
I'm not sure why, but these types of days are my favorites. It just makes me happy when it's cloudy, even more so when there are thunderstorms.

Pumpkin season!
Yes, I am one of those people. I'm not sure why I don't use pumpkin all year. It's just so delicious! Below: pumpkin cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting.

Canning
My favorite episode was the corn race! We tried to do all the corn in 25 minutes (I think it was about 20 bags?). We were so close! Just minutes off.

Circus
Ayda won tickets to the circus and Joe couldn't make it so I got to go! Bonus points for living next door!
We went to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey presents LEGENDS
I have always loved big cats and this has made me want to get one. They are gorgeous! It would be amazing to have one of them just wandering the yard. As long as there was no chance of it turning on anyone.
The elephants were pretty awesome as well! I wish we could have seen all the animals up close. They weren't doing that here though.
In the steel ball they had 8 people in there! It is crazy how they can sync up all those people so they don't run into anyone. It seemed like a small space for all of them.
All in all it was a good time. Great to get to see something different and hang out with a couple of my favorite people!
I apologize in advance for the blurry pics, but here they go:

Getting back to blogging. Maybe...
It has been forever since I last blogged. Sadly, not much has happened since then. Maybe that's why I feel like not blogging, because I think something big has to be happening. Hopefully I can get that thinking changed. If anything it would be nice to look back and see what I did with my days. So here's to getting back at it.

End of a calling
I am no longer in the Young Womens. :( I wish I could remember when I was called. I know it has been at least 7 years. I am going to miss the girls and the friendships with the other leaders. It was fun to get to know the girls and watch them grow. It's going to be so weird not to plan and go to mutual activities, girls camps, and firesides.
I like being safe in my no change bubble, so I am a little worried about what comes next. But it will be good for me to have things shaken up.

Vacation
Erin and I were going to go to New Mexico for the Balloon Fiesta but we were thwarted by her car, and possibly my praying. :) It seems like when I pray at the beginning of a trip something bad happens to the car, take girls camp for example. We drove for about an hour and a half, stopped for gas and noticed smoke pouring out where the tires were. The brakes were gone. We turned around, hung at home for the night, made a stop at Conference dinner at Grandma's, and then set out for Cedar to see the kids. It was a fun vacation. It rained for almost the whole time so we watched a lot of movies. It was just fun to get out of the city and spend time with family!! Thanks Sarah, Joe, and Ellie for letting us come. I can't speak for Erin, but I had a blast!! :)

30th
Today was an awesome birthday!! I started off at work which wasn't too bad. Some co-workers found out and announced it over the pa. Pa and Erin joined Catherine and I for our morning mocha (minus the coffee for me). I was going to sleep but I wasn't tired so Pa, Erin, and I went to pick up my present. I wasn't sure what it was but when we were getting close to our destination Erin says, "Aren't you so excited for your new bed?!" Surprise ruined. :) I was way excited though. We then had lunch and Sandra called to see if I could babysit. Just for a half hour. I thought why not. We just planned to have a little barbecue with the fam for dinner. We could eat a little later. So I babysat Abe and started to walk home. I could smell the hamburgers cooking and was a little excited that they'd be ready by the time I got there. As I got closer I saw two cars in the road and was wondering who was over to visit. But then I saw the orange balloons and I thought wait just one minute, what is going on here. My family totally surprised me with a party! Aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. We had an awesome barbecue and had a really good time. I have the best family ever. My sisters took time off to be here with me. And so many of my extended family came. So awesome. Even though my memory started slipping before I got old I will totally remember this day! Thank you everyone, you are amazing people. I love you all!!
Not sure if you really want to know what I got but as this is sort of my journal here it goes.

Perceid Meteor Shower
For two nights last week I went out with Pa and Catherine into the desert to see the meteor shower. I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty awesome!!
The first night we saw a bunch. We went out around 1am. We decided to start counting after about 20 minutes. We got up to 30 and we stayed maybe another 20 minutes.
The second night we went earlier and didn't stay as long. We were scared away by a bat. It was flying low to intimidate us and it worked. After the second fly-by we were out of there!!

Late night sighting
I went to Denny's for dinner one night, around 2am, and this guy goes up to pay and leave. As he is heading for the door I see him start to wave his hands, like he is trying to trigger the automatic door. Only the door isn't automatic. He stands there for a second then asks the waiter how you work the door. They waiter tells him to push on it. I almost died!! I couldn't believe it. Too funny!! Later I wonder how he got in in the first place. Did someone open the door for him, or did he just forget that he had to pull on them to get them opened?

New Job Responsibilities
I work in the electronics department. I throw the freight and then go into the back to help them. Last Friday someone stole 7 laptops so now I have to stay out in electronics all night. Monday was my first night doing it and it sucked!! I tried to go as slow as possible throwing freight but I was still done by 2. I spent the next 5 hours wandering around trying to find stuff to straighten. Longest 5 hours of my life!! I'm not sure how long I'll last at this. I need to be doing stuff.

Grandparents Day
There is just one thing I would change about this years Grandparents Day and that would be breakfast. We had it at Ikea this year. Don't get me wrong it was good food. I just missed the home cooking. Especially the orange julius!! Other than that I had a great time. We went to Ikea, then the South Jordan Fire Station. It was cool to see inside and find out a little about what they do. We then played Minute to Win It. It was really fun. I was supposed to keep two balloons up in the air but I got too close to the wall. And I only had 5 seconds left. For shame!! We then went to Stacie's to swim and eat. Good times!!

Girls Camp
I almost made it to girls camp this year. We were going to the property out by Indianola. We all agreed upon taking the longer, but less construction, route through Nephi. I was making good time. We turned off 89 onto the dirt road and had just made it though the lower gate and up the hill a little ways when I noticed something wet on my windshield. I first thought it was bugs. Boy was I wrong!! It was anti-freeze that had decided to spew out the front of my car. I pulled over and the radiator started smoking. I had 4 girls in the car with me. We opened the hood and waited. I thought I was first to get there, but it turns out everyone else decided to take the Spanish Fork route. It was lucky that they were coming back down for an activity in the city. The girls and I spent the first hour and half of camp reading in my car on the side of the hill. Good times!!
I decided I'd better start home so that I could get the car fixed. (I was planning on leaving later that night. Glad I went earlier though!) I went to a gas station for water and anti-freeze then started home. I only made it a couple of miles before it overheated again. I stopped for about twenty minutes. and filled the radiator with water. Again I only made it a couple of miles before stopping again. This time at a church just before Thistle. I waited for probably 45min to an hour. I made it all the way out the canyon and died at a gas station in Mapleton. Pa and Catherine came to rescue me. We ended up having to call a tow truck. Turns out my radiator needed replacing. I cried a little when I found out. They are kind of expensive!! But it is all done and I have my car back.
Three people stopped to see if I was okay during my ordeal. I thought it was awesome that people still care about one another. I didn't really think anyone would stop. Especially nowadays. Good to see there are still good people out there.
